This year, the Logan-Hocking Middle School art students are painting snow plows to be used by ODOT for the winter season. We are not the only ones, as all 7 LHSD school buildings will be participating this year!
Mrs. Hacker's Honors Art class (8th graders) sketched their ideas for what they wanted to put on the snow plow. As a class, they decided on the design. As they have completed their art projects (and as long as the weather permits), the students have been painting the snow plow based on the design they voted on. The original artwork was designed by Launa O'Rourke, Taryne Spencer, and McKenzie Hackney. The design was voted on by the Honors Art class and the students have been painting it. Parker Cole has done most of the outline. Periodically, other students have stepped outside on to the "art patio" to add big strokes of color or paint small details to make the artwork come to life.
Mrs Oldham's 7th and 8th grade class has been working on their design to show their LHMS school spirit. The letters were sketched out, then the students chose a color of paint to represent them on the plow. They included purple and white as the major colors. Students will be adding their handprints with their chosen color and signing the plow when it is finished.
