How do you make Macbeth interesting to teenagers?
Act it out, of course! In Mrs. Pfarr and Mrs. Brooke’s class, students acted out certain scenes, complete with props, to keep their peers engaged.
The 10th grade is an important grade in high school.
It’s the year that students have to take four end-of-course state tests to show their learning and proficiency in core classes, like English. Learning Shakespeare, which is considered a 10th-grade text, while also learning skills like annotating and thinking critically, is incredibly important for preparing for both the test and the real world. Keeping the students interested in the text helps their comprehension and allows them to learn these skills without feeling like a chore.
