"Dear LHSD families,
As we celebrate the holiday season, I am grateful for the connection and togetherness we have enjoyed so far this school year. Many of us are experiencing seasonal celebrations that have taken a pause in recent years. It's wonderful to have so many opportunities to enjoy this season with family, friends, and our community, once again.
This year, LHSD has focused heavily on the importance of being together in our school buildings. When attendance is strong, we are able to achieve our academic goals, participate in meaningful discussions, excel in extra curricular activities, and strengthen relationships with one another.
Our district has recently enjoyed many special events, including Connectivity Days, assemblies, concerts, performances, competitions and athletic events. These events not only connect our students with their fellow classmates and teachers, but also with their incredibly supportive community. We have many fantastic initiatives that have allowed our students to engage with businesses, professionals and volunteerism in Hocking County and beyond. As our Chieftains focus on learning in the classroom, they can see the many opportunities available as they grow into adults with unique talents and career goals.
Holiday break will begin on December 19, 2022 and run through January 2, 2023. School will be back in session on January 3, 2023. I encourage you to also celebrate the season with friends and family and enjoy much-deserved time to rest and recharge.
I look forward to reconnecting after the holidays and enjoying the start of 2023 together.
Have a fantastic holiday season!
Sincerely,
Monte Bainter, Superintendent
Logan-Hocking Schools
