Dear 11th Grade Families,

In an effort to broaden college-accessibility for Ohio students, the State of Ohio will cover the cost of a one-time ACT exam fee for all Ohio 11th graders at their local high school.   The ACT exam is a nationally recognized college entrance exam that measures high school academic content.

The ACT Ohio Statewide Test Administration for 11th grade students at LHS is set for Tuesday, March 3rd.  A selection of LHS teaching faculty will serve as ACT test administrators.  ACT registered students will be notified and reminded of their test date and test room location.  (Families may opt out of Ohio ACT, if parent/guardian completes and submits the required ACT Opt Out Form.)

The ACT online exam consists of multiple choice tests in four areas: English, Mathematics, Reading, and Science.  An ACT individual score report will be provided to students in 4-8 weeks after the exam day. The ACT exam administration will run from 8:30am-11:45am on Tuesday, March 3rd.  Students will need their charged Chromebook, pen/pencil, and may bring a permitted calculator in their testing room (an online calculator app is included in the ACT Math section of the test).

Upon completion of the exam administration, tested students will be permitted to leave early from school, but will be required to sign out.  Students needing bus transportation to their home should remain at LHS until regular dismissal.  A school lunch will be available for tested students after completing the ACT exam.

Linked is a resource guide Preparing for ACT with detailed information about the ACT Exam, Testing Strategies, and Sample Practice Tests.  This resource guide was shared with 11th graders during pre-registration meetings held in Government classes.

We appreciate you having your child ready on ACT exam day and encourage them to give their best effort.  For questions about the ACT exam, please contact Mr. Brice Frasure at Logan-Hocking Schools via email: bfrasure@lhsd.k12.oh.us
