BYF Volleyball

Logan Volleyball’s Volley for the Cure is more than just a game—it’s a tradition of giving back. Each year, the program rallies the community to raise funds in support of cancer patients and their families. In 2023, Kelley Hoellrich was selected as the honoree prior to her passing. Following her selection, Logan Volleyball reached out to her husband, Eric Hoellrich, who graciously requested that the funds be directed to Brighten Your Future.

Brighten Your Future is a local scholarship foundation that provides last-dollar grants to Logan High School graduates. By filling the gap between other financial aid and the actual cost of college, the foundation helps students pursue their educational goals with less financial burden.

Today, Brighten Your Future is proud to honor Kelley Hoellrich for her enduring legacy, and the Logan Volleyball Program for its generosity and community spirit. Together, their impact extends beyond the court—transforming care and compassion into opportunity for the next generation of students.

Kelley Hoellrich, a 1988 graduate of Perkins High School, is remembered for her dedication to education, community service, and family. A standout student and athlete, she earned a varsity letter as a member of the Bowling Green State University dive team before beginning her professional career as a computer programmer analyst.

For more than 20 years, Kelley was a vital member of the Logan-Hocking School District, serving in multiple roles that left a lasting impact on both students and staff. She taught at the elementary level, served as district literacy coach, and later became the district’s digital curriculum specialist. Beyond the classroom, she contributed to numerous committees dedicated to student success, volunteered with the track and field program, and devoted countless hours through the PTO to ensure every elementary student had a yearbook to cherish.

Known for her compassion and advocacy, Kelley worked tirelessly to expand learning opportunities and give a voice to students who needed support. Colleagues and students alike remember her for her positivity, warm smile, and calm presence—qualities that made her an admired educator and trusted teammate.

Of all her accomplishments, Kelley was most proud of her role as a mother, raising three daughters who went on to become teachers, scientists, and business professionals. She embraced life to the fullest—whether traveling the world, cheering on her daughters, or enjoying trivia nights with family and friends.

Kelley battled cancer for more than a decade with remarkable hope, courage, and strength. To her countless friends, family members, students, and colleagues, she was nothing short of a hero. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and deep compassion—always placing the needs of others before her own. Her love touched everyone who knew her, and her absence will be felt profoundly.

Kelley Hoellrich’s life was defined by service, dedication, and love. She leaves behind a lasting impact on every life she encountered, and her legacy will continue through her family, her students, and the community she so deeply cared for.
