National Guard

National Guard

The Guard dates back to 1636, when Citizen-Soldiers formed militias to defend their local communities. Now, 377 years later, the Guard has stayed true to its mission. Enlisting in the National Guard means more time at home than active duty service, as training typically requires just one weekend each month with a two-week training period once each year. Many of our Guard Soldiers get degrees with free tuition, learn job skills through paid training, and form bonds with fellow soldiers that last a lifetime.

U.S. Coast Guard

U.S. Coast Guard

The coastal defense, search and rescue, and maritime law enforcement branch of the United States Armed Forces and one of the country's eight uniformed services. The Coast Guard is a maritime, military, multi-mission service unique among the U.S. military branches for having a maritime law enforcement mission with jurisdiction in both domestic and international waters and a federal regulatory agency mission as part of its duties.
